Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Da!
Don’t you ever forget
The twin towers and how they gleamed
Majestic above the horizon
The captains greeting the team
~
Commerce and industry bustled
Precariously chugging along
Until a maniacal effort
Made scars in the lands where we once belonged
~
Don’t you ever forget
The smiling faces saying goodbye
They didn’t know it would be the last
When they hung their coffee cups to dry
~
Early meetings and the creative process
Were well underway that day
Phone calls and emails and faxes
We all had no clue what was coming our way.
~
Don’t you ever forget
What the world felt like before
Sweet Freedom and Liberty, America
We were naïve to what others endure
~
In an instant our Peace was changed
With the confusion and terror that followed
Lines cut, cups dropped, explosions . . . then silence
No one imagined ever feeling such sorrow.
~
The Unity that can be derived
From the good in all people,
And the sense of what’s right
~
So go to your school, go to your desk
Pray to your God Almighty
For the Freedom you hold is precious and bold
Don’t Ever Forget The Sacrifices, alrighty?
